Your Work Van Is Already a Billboard
A Bowling Green State Fair Win Shows Why

A Bowling Green ice cream shop just won big at the Kentucky State Fair. Here is how a wrapped work van keeps that kind of attention going all year.

If your business earns attention, the cheapest way to keep that attention working is to put your name on the vehicle you already drive every day in Bowling Green.

A local win at this year's Kentucky State Fair makes the point better than any sales pitch.

What happened at the fair

Meltdown Ice Cream, a Bowling Green parlor, took Best in Show across all dairy entries at the 2026 Kentucky State Fair with a flavor called Ooey Gooey Mooey. It also earned gold medals in two categories, including a premium vanilla that had only managed a red ribbon the year before.

Owner Susan Warrell told WBKO that the award "brings a little bit of recognition to this part of the state, and as a small business, it just brings people in."

That sentence describes the hardest problem any small operator faces. Getting strangers to know you exist is the whole game.

A ribbon does that for a few weeks. A wrapped vehicle does it every time you drive to work.

Your vehicle is already in front of the right people

A van sitting in traffic on the 31W Bypass or parked outside a job on Scottsville Road is seen by people who actually live and spend money here. You are already paying for that exposure in fuel, insurance, and time.

The only question is whether any of it turns into a name somebody remembers on the way home.

That is why graphics on a work truck or van are usually the first marketing spend a small business does not regret. There is no monthly invoice, no ad auction, and no competing with national brands for the same slot.

The vehicle keeps working whether you renew anything or not.

Full wrap, partial, or just lettering

Coverage is a budget decision more than a design decision. All three of these options work if the message is clear.

OptionCoverageBest for
Full wrapEvery painted panelFood trucks, trailers, delivery vans
Partial wrapRear doors, lower sides, or one panelNewer vehicles already in a color you like
Cut letteringName, phone, and website onlyContractors who want contact info and nothing else

A partial layout often gets most of the visual impact for a fraction of the material. It works especially well on white, black, or silver vehicles, where the factory paint can act as background instead of something you have to cover.

If you want the vehicle to read as one designed object rather than stickers on a van, a fully printed custom layout is the way to go.

Design rules that survive 55 mph

Most vehicle graphics fail for the same reason. They were designed on a screen, at arm's length, sitting still.

Your customer sees the van for about four seconds from two lanes over. Design for that.

Keep it to one message

Anything past that is decoration. Long service lists, social icons, and paragraphs of small text are wasted on a moving target.

Contrast beats color

Dark text on a light field or light text on a dark field will always outperform two mid tone colors that look nice on a monitor. Bowling Green gets plenty of overcast days, and low contrast graphics disappear in flat light.

Respect the body lines

Door handles, rub strips, and deep body creases will chop up type if the layout ignores them. A good installer plans around those before printing, not after.

More than one vehicle changes the math

If you run two or more vehicles, matching graphics do something a single van cannot. People start seeing you everywhere, which reads as an established business rather than a new one.

Consistent graphics across a fleet also simplify replacements. When a truck rotates out, the new one gets the same file, the same layout, and the same look without another design round.

We handle this for businesses across Bowling Green, Glasgow, Franklin, Elizabethtown, and the rest of Warren County.

What to have ready before you book

That last item matters more than the rest. Businesses that arrive knowing their single message get better graphics than businesses that want everything included.

Start with a quote

Coverage, vehicle size, and design complexity all move the number, so a real quote beats a guess every time. Send over your vehicle details and we will price the options side by side.

You can get in touch here or call the shop at (270) 817-6497 to talk through what makes sense for your budget.

A state fair ribbon is a great week. A wrapped van is every week after that.
